KARA becomes the Japanese CF models for ‘LG 옵티머스 Optimus Bright’

KARA將在日本代言LG電子智慧手機Optimus Bright。該手機是Optimus Black的日本市場版。LG電子1日表示,本次推出的Optimus Bright是世界上最亮的一款智慧手機,KARA靚麗可愛的形象非常符合手機特點,因此決定請她們代言新款手機。
LG電子還補充說,KARA將推出新曲《Go Go Summer Bright》,重新開戰在日本的活動。屆時將同時舉行Optimus Bright的推介活動。由KARA出演的廣告將從17日起在日本播出。

LG Electronics revealed on June 1st that they chose KARA to be the Japanese CF models for their upcoming cellphone brand , LG ‘Optimus Bright’.
A representative revealed, “To celebrate the launch of our new ‘Optimus Bright’ smartphone in mid-June, we have decided to partner with popular girl group KARA because of their youthful and lovely image which complements our product.”
KARA will also be releasing a new Japanese single titled ‘Go Go Summer Bright‘, which will be used for the CM and be promoted at the same time.
The LG ‘Optimus Bright’ is the Japanese variant of the ‘Optimus Black‘, but with some slight modifications. The CM and print advertisements will be launched starting June 17th.

スーパースターへと一気に駆け上がった"KARA"待望のニュー・シングルが完成!! 夏にピッタリなキュートでダンサブルなKARAの代表作となるヒットチューン! C/W「ガールズ ビー アンビシャル!」はKARA出演のダリヤ「Palty」CMソング! 初回限定盤 A は、Music Video、ダンスショットVer.、オフショットを収録予定のDVD付き。抽選特典応募券付き(予定)。
After putting their differences behind them, KARA is preparing to release their fourth Japanese single, “Go Go Summer!“.
There’ll be four versions available – three limited editions and of course, a regular edition. ‘Limited Edition A’ is a CD+DVD, ‘Limited Edition B’ comes with a photobook, and ‘Limited Edition C’ will have an bonus track enclosed.
“Go Go Summer!” will be released on June 29th, but it’s likely that we’ll be able to hear a radio rip fairly soon. In the meantime, check out the full track lists and covers below!

KARA’s Gyuri, Hara, and Jiyoung have all signed an exclusive one year contract with cosmetics brand, “Nature Republic“, to become their latest models!
On June 2nd, representatives of the brand revealed, “Continuing on from JYJ, Jang Geun Suk, and now Hara, Gyuri, and Jiyoung we’re looking forward to seeing the worth of our brand shoot up. We will continue to reach out to our consumers both in Korea and overseas with great products and marketing promotions with the KARA members.”
The trio will be promoting in Japan, Thailand, and Singapore. They’ll be kicking off their endorsement activities with a new studio photoshoot on the 3rd for a natural skincare and toner line.

KARA’s legal dispute with DSP Media has now developed into a battle between professional law firms.
DSP Media was hit with a lawsuit three days ago from KARA’s Seungyeon, Nicole, and Jiyoung, and unable to avoid a legal battle, went ahead by bringing in Sejong Law Firm’s Im Sang Hyuk. Sejong is one of the representative law firms in the nation, as it houses over 300 lawyers by itself.
KARA’s trio, who had been working with Landmark ever since the start of this dispute, was recently revealed to have been in a secret meeting with Hankyul Law Firm on February 16th. Representatives of the trio asked Hankyul to take on their case, and Hankyul accepted.
Hankyul is known for their work in the entertainment industry, as they made headlines in 2005 for taking on the ‘celebrity x-files’ case. Hankyul is also responsible for 60% of the film distribution companies in the nation.
The legal representative KARA’s trio chose from Hankyul, Kim Jin Wook, has previous experience working with Super Junior’s Han Geng in his lawsuit against SM Entertainment. KARA’s trio were revealed to have been adamant with their decision on Kim, especially since he won the lawsuit.
Considering the fact that DSP Media is backed by Im Sang Hyuk, who’s currently the legal representative for JYJ against SM Entertainment, industry representatives have interpreted the trio’s move in switching out their lawyers to mean that they are now ready to put up an aggressive fight.
Jiyoung’s father under fire for making statements on KARA dispute

Seungyeon’s father is currently undergoing a controversy for statements he had made in an interview with Japan’s Fuji TV. Now it looks like he’ll be joined by Jiyoung’s father, who also made some contentious statements during a separate interview with Fuji TV.
On February 16th, the Japanese network aired an interview with Jiyoung’s father, Kang Gun Wook, through their “Super News” segment, and asked whether it was true that DSP Media only distributed ¥60,000 at the height of their “Lupin” promotions.
Kang replied, “At the time of the ‘Lupin’ promotions, about $400,000 USD in profit were made from digital sales. But all of that went into promotional expenses, and only a few hundred were left. Speaking in terms of the Japanese yen, that amounts to about ¥10,000. The distribution per member is about ¥60,000.”
When further asked what Jiyoung herself thought about the recent lawsuit, he replied, “She’s probably upset. Jiyoung did ask whether it was necessary for it to develop into a lawsuit, but this won’t be inflicting any harm onto the girls’ promotional activities. If the company is in the wrong, they should apologize, but they actually said good job. How could I not get mad? They did not apologize even once. If conversing through words doesn’t work, the law must be used.”

Seungyeon’s father (who, by the way, is also a master sword craftsman) has spoken up to clarify the controversy surrounding his recent remarks in a Fuji TV interview. The situation is “a complete misunderstanding“, he said to Korean news outlets.
He went on to say, “What was said in the Japanese broadcast was correct, but I had no intention of putting the blame on Gyuri. In any group, the leader is supposed to take care of the other members’ complaints by addressing them with the company. However, as the group’s complaints got bigger and bigger, Gyuri did not play her role well, which is why I’m disappointed.” However, he maintains that he “did not intend to blame Gyuri” for the problem with the company.

The popularity in Japan of girl group KARA, currently overcoming a threat of a split, is seemingly becoming more grounded.
A concert event in Japan that KARA will be participating in on the coming 20th of March, sold out in 10 seconds after release. This ticket release, opened on the 29th of January, confirmed the popularity of KARA in Japan.
This concert event is the ‘2011 Universal Dream Live’ that will be held in the Universal Studio of Osaka, Japan. It is an event where celebrities belonging to the Universal company will be holding a concert from the 19th to the 21st of March. KARA will be standing on the stage on the 20th, as well as B2ST and G.NA, who are both planning to advance into the Japanese market.
As of this moment, KARA’s popularity in Japan is beyond conception. Local officials’ explanation is that KARA is the hotspot of issues and popularity in the Japanese music world.
On the other hand, the conflict between KARA’s company DSPMedia and the 3 members of KARA (Han Seungyeon, Jung Nicole, and Kang Jiyoung) has been partially worked out, with the compromise decided during the meeting on the 27th of January, that KARA’s previously scheduled events in Japan and Korea will be carried out with the whole group. The possibility of the team staying together as well as problems with the contract of the company will be discussed in the future.
